I was asked by a subscriber (a first) to offer my thoughts on how to handle guilt.
Being Jewish, I can consider myself an expert on this topic with decades of experience.
Guilt is a self-conscious feeling that we get when we act against our own personal beliefs and principles.
Guilt should be viewed as a good thing. You are being introspective. You are evaluating yourself. And you are not giving yourself a passing grade.
The way to handle guilt is to view it as a positive.
It is positive that you are measuring yourself.
It is positive that you are holding yourself to a high standard.
It is positive because you can use it to motivate yourself to be better.
Guilt is that cloud that provides water to nourish you, make you grow.
And that cloud of guilt, like all clouds, will blow over you too, and give rise to a beautiful sun filled bright blue sky.
Wishes for a great day to all,
Hugs too,
David/
