Over the past almost forty years, I have performed thousands of Upper Endoscopies – guiding a scope through a patient's stomach and into their duodenum while they are asleep.
This thought hit me this morning while doing one.
People judge and are judged all the time.
Knowingly, and unknowingly.
I know that I get judged all the time. And this world being what it is currently, I want to be judged by my duodenum!
I identify as A duodenum
Tongue in cheek, or endoscope in duodenum.
You might ask why?
With 100% concordance over decades of experience in performing thousands of upper endoscopies, never once by looking at someone’s duodenum have I ever been able to tell:
Their genotype or phenotype.
Their chromosomal makeup.
The color of their skin or eyes or hair.
Their height or weight.
Their religion or their primary language.
Their ethics or moral character.
Their educational background, hobbies, charities, or interests.
And on and on and on.
So, for those out there who want to judge me, judge me by my duodenum.
And perhaps when you find yourself in a similar situation of being judged, or perhaps even judging another human being, think about your/their duodenum.
Because you know as much about their duodenum as you do about them as a person, an individual human being.
And you need to know a lot about a human being, a real lot, before they let you judge their duodenum.
Wishes for a great day to all,
Each one a gift,
Hugs and love too,
David/
